Hello NWTF members! A message from Craig White, Texas Chapter President

Hello fellow NWTF members!! This will be the final year I serve as your State Chapter President, and it has definitely been an honor to hold such a prestige position. My work is far from over, and we have a lot of ground to cover in 2019 locally in each chapter, and as a state. I look forward to working with you as we go through the year, and please do not hesitate to pick up the phone and give me a call if I can help you with anything!

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEKEND!!--JANUARY 19, 2019

Our 2019 Texas State Volunteer Appreciation Weekend will be held on January 19, 2019 at the Best Western Premier in Bryan, TX. We will have fun breakout sessions beginning at 1:00 that Saturday and going until 4:00. Come enjoy some fun as our board and staff members take center stage and fill you in on the latest and greatest things about Texas NWTF. That evening at 6:00pm, we will kick off our first ever “Carnival Night”. The evening is guaranteed to be filled with fun as your Texas State Board of Directors will host a wide variety of Carnival Games and give you chances to win great items from guns, to trips!! We will top the evening off with honoring some outstanding chapters from across the state. I would like to encourage all volunteers to attend to meet other like-minded volunteers and enjoy a fun-filled event.

2019 NWTF NATIONAL CONVENTION—FEBRUARY 13-17, 2019

Our 43rd Annual Convention and Sports Show will be held in Nashville, TN February 13-17, 2019 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Resort. This is by far the greatest experience anybody could ask for as an NWTF Volunteer or Member. The exhibit hall will have hundreds of vendor booths setup, and the events throughout the week will simply blow your mind. For more details, go to nwtf.org.

TURKEY RELEASING IN EAST TEXAS

We have released another big group of Eastern Wild Turkeys in East Texas as we continue to try and establish a healthy turkey population. We have released a number of Wild Turkeys from a few different states this year and look forward to continuing to lead this effort for the years to come. I would like to extend a special thank you to Jason Hardin and our TPWD team for coordinating the catching, transportation, and releasing of these birds with our neighboring State Agencies. This is truly a team effort and requires a significant amount of coordination.
